Book Review: Clarity in Chaos by Joshua Peck

Clarity in Chaos: Poetry Collection by…I have to be in the mood to read poetry and tonight was that night. Mr. Peck's new poetry book is a collection of poems that he has written over the years and gathered together into this volume. They are personal poems about his life experiences and people he knows.
I'm not a huge fan of free verse, but I found some things to like here. The is a section for haikus that I quite enjoyed.  Slowly Numbing is a poem about a relationship that is emotional. Ghost Stories brought back memories. The Long School Walk  tells of the relationship between parents as perceived by their child. Waiting with Magazines made me laugh.
I give this book 3 1/2 stars. The formatting could be better (for instance, a TOC would be nice) and there are some typos.  But it is a good effort and well worth taking the time to read these poems.
