Book Review: Choosing Sides by Cheree Triplett

Choosing Sides is the first book in the Interplanetary Saga by Cheree Triplett. Richard Derek, called Derek, is the captain of a spaceship named Anarchy. His partner, Zee (or Zerrin), is his partner in all ways. Derek and Zee both have secrets and are wanted by the U.A.A. because of them, so they live on the fringes of space, taking odd jobs for transport. Derek and Zee eventually pick up a varied crew to help them on their adventures.
The book has a Firefly vibe that is very enjoyable though the characters are very different.  Derek and Zee are a great couple, in sync with each other and having an easy camaraderie that is fun to read. Their friends Dev and Glitch aren't on the shop, but add interesting side stories. The crew, Jax and Kale, each have their places in the story. I don't want to give too much away, but this is a great space adventure story.
The book is written in third person, present tense which I don't read often. It suits the story though and once I was used to it, it was fine. The book ends on a great cliffhanger and I think the next book is coming out soon and I can't wait because it was that good.
